Indira Miri School of Education (IMSE), KKHSOU celebrated the Teachers' Day on September 5, 2024 at City Campus, Khanapara, Guwahati. The event featured Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhuri, a distinguished figure in academia and former Vice-Chancellor of Tezpur University, former Education Advisor to the Government of Assam, and current Advisor to the Chancellor's Secretariat at Raj Bhavan, Guwahati, as the Chief Guest. The program began with the lighting of a lamp and floral tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, in whose honour the day was observed.

Prof. N. N. Sarma, Professor of Management of the University, welcomed the Chief Guest and other attendees. In his address, Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das, the Vice Chancellor of the University, encouraged the teaching community to remain committed to nurturing human resources for the nation and discussed various University's initiatives aimed at enhancing the state’s Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER).

In his address, Chief Guest Prof. Chaudhuri highlighted the crucial role of KKHSOU in improving the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in the state while ensuring quality and diversity. He also discussed the essential role of teachers and various challenges and essentialities involved in teaching, including the impact of outcome-based education. He also elaborated on the unique aspects of NEP 2020, the evolving digital educational environment, and the role of teachers and educational leaders in adapting to NEP 2020 requirements and encouraging a supportive digital environment. Following his speech, Prof. Chaudhuri answered a range of questions from the audience.

The program was anchored by Dr. Archana Adhikary, Assistant Professor of Education, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Arunima Borah, Assistant Professor of Education at IMSE, KKHSOU.
