Introduction to CIQA, KKHSOU
The Centre for Internal Quality Assurance (CIQA) of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) was established vide Board of Management (BoM) resolution number BM/38/6(A)/2017 dated 7thSeptember, 2017 in accordance with the UGC (ODL) Regulations 2017 dated 23rdJune, 2017. This Centre intends to take care of the quality aspect of diverse activities of the University as directed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and University Grants Commission (UGC). Accordingly, the Centre has been shouldering the responsibility of generating and promoting quality assurance in the University and working out the procedural details.
Objectives and Functions of CIQA
The functions performed by the Centre for Internal Quality Assurance of KKHSOU are mainly the following:
- Preparing PPRs (Programme Project Reports) for each programme, getting them approved and putting in place suitable monitoring mechanism to ensure their implementation.
- Supervising the creation of Self Learning Materials (SLMs) and incorporating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into all academic practices.
- Formulating annual action plans to enhance quality and overseeing their execution.
- Coordinating the collection of feedback from stakeholders followed by analysis of feedback.
- Establishing quality benchmarks and gathering best practices from other institutions.
- Planning and conducting workshops and seminars to improve quality.
- Fostering creativity and innovation among faculty and staff.
- Implementing measures for quality improvement through regular accreditation and audits.
- Conducting system-based research and recommending program restructuring.
- Recording activities, compiling reliable statistics, and preparing the University's Annual Report.
- Coordinating the recognition and accreditation processes for the University.
- Instilling quality assurance policies through regular workshops, seminars, conferences, interactive sessions, and training programs.
- Reporting CIQA activities to the Authority for continual University improvement in terms of quality standards.
