Introduction

Research leading to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) are the most important academic activities of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU). We have major active research programmes in our five Schools (Humanities, Social Sciences, Management, Science and Technology and Mass Communication).

The PhD programme of KKHSOU is governed by the PhD Regulations of KKHSOU(2023). It incorporates the latest norms of UGC Minimum Standards and Procedures for the Award of the Degree of PhD.

Admission to PhD Programme

The admission to the PhD programme is an extremely competitive process i.e., through the Research Eligibility Test (RET) conducted by the University and Personal Interview. While the "RET" ensures the minimum standards required for a prospective research scholar to be admitted into the PhD programme, the "Personal Interview" is a filtering process to select those qualified applicants which are suitable for a particular research programme.
