Dr. Pranjit Bora is Professor in Humanities and Director of the Padmanath Gohain Baruah School of Humanities at Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati. With a distinguished academic journey spanning more than two decades, he has served in leading roles at institutions such as Dibrugarh University and contributed significantly to higher education in Assam. Prof. Bora holds a PhD from Gauhati University, where his research explored The Poetry of Anna Akhmatova and the Great Russian Tradition, alongside his academic foundation in English literature from Cotton College.

An established academic and prolific writer, Prof. Bora’s work covers Assamese Literature, Comparative Literature, World Literature, Literary Criticism, Translation Studies, and Folk Poetry. He has authored, edited, and translated more than 25 books, ranging from scholarly works to creative literature. His extensive research has been published in reputed national and international journals, and he remains engaged in enriching literary discourse through academic publications, translation projects, and editorial contributions.

Alongside his scholarly achievements, Prof. Bora is widely recognised as a creative author and poet. His literary works include acclaimed poetry collections, novels, prose anthologies, children’s literature, and translations that bridge Assamese literary tradition with global narratives. His creative expressions reflect deep sensitivity to culture, identity, and contemporary human experience, earning him a distinctive place in Assam’s literary landscape.

Prof. Bora has also played a leading role in academic administration, seminar organisation, and faculty development, including initiatives on Indian Philosophy, Comparative Literature, and Translation Studies. His mentorship has guided numerous PhD and MPhil scholars, while his writings continue to inspire readers across disciplines. As an academic, creative writer, and cultural thinker, Prof. Bora remains committed to promoting Assamese literature, fostering critical inquiry, and contributing to the intellectual and creative growth of the academic community.
