PROF. RAJENDRA PRASAD DAS
Vice Chancellor

Prof. Rajendra Prasad Das is a distinguished academic leader, management scholar, and higher education administrator with over three and a half decades of experience in teaching, research, training, and university governance. He assumed office as the fourth Vice Chancellor of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) on 11 October 2022, bringing with him administrative acumen and visionary leadership.

A Ph.D. in Management from Kurukshetra University, Prof. Das has served some of the country's leading higher educational institutions, including XLRI, Jamshedpur; Jiwaji University, Gwalior; and Vikram University, Ujjain. Prior to joining KKHSOU, he served as the senior-most Pro Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, from 2019 to 2022, and as the Vice Chancellor of Berhampur University, Odisha, from 2016 to 2019. His academic journey also includes more than two decades of significant contribution as Professor and Director of the Faculty of Management Studies, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Throughout his illustrious career, Prof. Das has held several key leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, Director of the College Development Council, Chairman of Boards of Studies, and Member of Executive and Academic Councils. His extensive experience in academic administration has enabled him to contribute meaningfully to institutional development, quality enhancement, and higher education reforms.

An accomplished researcher and prolific academic, Prof. Das has authored five books and published more than 100 research papers in reputed national and international journals. He has successfully guided twelve doctoral scholars and has actively participated in over one hundred national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and academic forums. His areas of expertise include Human Resource Management, Organizational Behaviour, Strategic Management, Leadership Development, Higher Education Administration, and Open and Distance Learning.

Prof. Das has also served as an expert member, keynote speaker, and resource person for numerous universities, academic institutions, and professional bodies across India. His contributions to teaching, research, academic leadership, and capacity building have earned him wide recognition in the higher education community.

As Vice Chancellor, Prof. Das is committed to strengthening KKHSOU's mission of expanding access to quality higher education through innovative and learner-centric Open and Distance Learning. Guided by the principles of academic excellence, inclusivity, research, innovation, and lifelong learning, he continues to steer the University towards new horizons while aligning its growth with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020. Under his leadership, KKHSOU is further consolidating its position as a leading centre of open, online, and distance education in Northeast India.
