Dr. Tejasha Kalita is an Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Philosophy at the Surya Kumar Bhuyan School of Social Sciences. She holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Gauhati University and earned her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Her areas of specialisation include Applied Ethics, Logic, and Social and Political Philosophy.

Dr. Kalita has published several research papers in reputed journals and edited volumes, and she has also edited a book entitled Issues in Philosophy: East and West. She has presented her research at various national and international seminars and has been actively involved in the development of Self Learning Materials (SLMs) for both undergraduate and postgraduate philosophy programmes. Her contributions span a wide range of subjects, including Logic, Ethics, Philosophy of Religion, Modern Western Philosophy, Medieval Greek Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, Applied Ethics, History of Western Philosophy, and Metaphysics. She has authored and translated numerous units for SLMs as well.

As a research supervisor, Dr. Kalita has successfully guided one scholar to the award of a Ph.D., and currently supervises three doctoral candidates.

Dr Tejasha Kalita also coordinated three MOOCs on SWAYAM platform. The MOOCs are namely, Essestials of Indian Philosophy, Social and Political Philoosphy and Fundamentals of Philosophy.

Beyond academia, Dr. Kalita is also a well-known Assamese short story writer and novelist. Her literary works have appeared in several Assamese magazines such as Prantik and Gariyashi. She has published two books—Apratyashita Mitha Sapon, a collection of short stories, and Abhikangkhya, a novel.

Dr. Kalita’s scholarly and literary contributions reflect her deep engagement with both philosophical thought and creative expression.

1. Worked as a part time lecturer in Hnadiqui Girls' College from August 2005 to April 2007 and from Januaryb 2015 to April 2016.

2. Worked as a Teachers Assistant, JRF and SRF in the Dept of HSS, IIT Guwahati fom July 2007 to December 2012.

3. Worked as a project associate in the Dept. of HSS, IIT from January 2013 to August 2013

4. Working as an Assistant Professor the Discipline of Philosophy, KKHSOU from 8.4.2016 till date.
