Dr. Devajani Duarah has been associated with Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) since 2011. She began her journey at the university as an Academic Consultant in Teachers’ Training, where she coordinated the D.El.Ed. programme for untrained in-service teachers across Assam. Under her leadership, more than 59,000 teachers were trained and awarded the D.El.Ed. degree by 2019.

Before joining KKHSOU, she worked as a faculty member in Chemistry at several private colleges, gaining valuable experience in classroom instruction and learner engagement.

In 2014, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education. Following the restructuring of academic departments in 2020, the department was merged into the broader Discipline of Education, and she currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Indira Miri School of Education.

Her academic responsibilities include teaching, developing Self-Learning Materials (SLMs), and producing audio-visual content related to Education in general and Teacher Education in particular. She earned her Ph.D. in the area of School Education, and continues to pursue research in related fields. Her broader academic interests encompass Teacher Education, Open and Distance Learning, Societal Issues, and ICT-based teaching and learning.
