Dr.Abhijit Bhuyan is an Asssistant Professor (Selection Grade) in the Discipline of Political Science at KKHSOU. He did his post-graduation in Political Science from Gauhati University and received his Ph.D. degree from Gauhati University for his thesis entitled “Human Security and Gandhian Satyagraha”.  His areas of expertise include Public Administration, International Politics, Peace and Conflict Studies, Gandhian Studies and Neo-Vaisnavism.He has authored two books namely  “Socio-Cultural and Political Role of the Namghar in Assam: A Comparative Study of the Namghars of Borbhogia Village and Bordowa Than/Satra” published by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata and “The Socio-Political Movement for Bodoland and Beyond- A Gendered Paradigm” published by Peace Studies, OKDISCD. Dr.Bhuyan was awarded Tabu Ram Taid Best Teacher Award, 2019 presented by K.K.Handiqui State Open University for contribution in the field of Higher Education and the University. He has to his credit several  research articles published in peer reviewed journals as well as in edited books. He has so far produced five Ph.D.reserach scholars and one M.Phil. scholar while several others are presently pursuing their Ph.D.research work under his spervision.
