The year-long celebration of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's birth centenary concluded with a special ceremony organized by the Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU). Held at the university’s Zubeen Garg Auditorium, the event paid rich tribute to the legendary maestro, beginning with floral offerings at his portrait. Key speakers Prof Pranjit Bora highlighted how Hazarika’s musical creations served as a powerful voice of protest while deeply reflecting human struggles, nature, and the ethos of the working-class society. Presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajendra Prasad Das, the gathering successfully brought together researchers, faculty members, and students to celebrate and keep alive the immortal cultural legacy of the "Sudhakantha".
