Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) observed National Unity Day on October 31, 2026, following guidelines from the University Grants Commission (UGC) to honor the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event featured a virtual pledge-taking ceremony at noon, coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr. Utpal Deka, which drew over 80 participants, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Rajendra Prasad Das, the registrar, faculty members, and students. Vice-Chancellor Das highlighted the importance of strengthening the university by drawing inspiration from Patel's principles of unity, while associated programs, such as a "Run for Unity" hosted by the Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha Degree College study center in Orang, further advanced national integration across various regional study centers.
