As per BoM Resolution No. BM/77/10/2024 dated 10th June 2024, the University has officially renamed the Banikanta Kakati Research Institute (BKRI) to the Banikanta Kakati Centre for Indian Knowledge System (BKCIKS). This transformation, effective from 11th November 2024, marks a significant step towards promoting indigenous knowledge systems and preserving the rich heritage of Indian philosophy, culture, and traditions.

The centre was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of Assam, reaffirming our dedication to fostering academic excellence and research rooted in Indian wisdom and knowledge traditions.
