Introduction:
The demographic advantage of India's youthful population offers a significant opportunity to shape the nation's future. Being the parent authority the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India recognizes the potential of the youth in driving India's growth and development, particularly through the lens of tourism. The proposed YUVA Tourism Club at Krishna KantaHandiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) seeks to empower young minds with a deep appreciation for the region's natural and cultural heritage, fostering responsible tourism along with enriching their academic journey.
Objectives:
The primary goal of the YUVA Tourism Club at KKHSOU is to create a platform where students can engage, explore, and contribute to North East India's diverse heritage through various educational and experiential initiatives. The club aims to:
- Introduce students to the country's rich cultural and geographical diversity, enabling them to be cultural ambassadors.
- Promote responsible and sustainable tourism practices that conserve the environment and support local communities.
- Cultivate an innovative spirit by encouraging students to explore entrepreneurship opportunities within the tourism sector.
- Organize tours and visits to heritage sites, museums, and lesser-known destinations to provide a holistic learning experience.
- Collaborate with local communities for community-based projects that positively impact both tourism and society.
