Krishnakanta Handiui  State Open University conducted a three-day training on 'Mushroom Production and Preparation of Value Added Products' from August 19 to 21 at the campus of the university at Rani Patgaon. The training was attended by people from Rani, Matia, Patgaon, Nepali Basti and villages maintained by the university. Dr. Dhirendra Nath Kalita, Executive Director, CBBO, Assam Agricultural University delivered the opening address. Mushroom entrepreneurs Kankalta Das and Anuj Kumar Shaikia participated in the training as resource persons. Dr. Govind Deka, Director, Guru Prasad Das School of Interdisciplinary and Vocational Studies delivered an important speech during the training. During the training, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Rajendra Prasad Das, interacted with the trainees and spoke on Mushroom cultivation and nutrition. During the training, the trainees were given important lectures on various techniques of Mushroom production, value added products and their packaging. The training was coordinated by Dr. Sharmistha Rani Baruah, Assistant Professor of the University.
